The Truebelles are a quirky mix of fantastic singers who combine the groove a la Joss Stone with an energetic drive of feminist attitude. Their new song ‘If Your Heart Is There’ is an upbeat piece of girl power underlined by a catchy beat, brilliantly smooth vocals and a frisky boost of soul.
The video to the song is as beautifully weird as the band itself and shows singer Grace as a somewhat confused bride who, it seems, isn’t ready to give into the captivity of a married life. This is all the more emphasised in rapper XYM’s interlude, putting an emphasis on the fact that having babies isn’t the real deal. The song is ultimately an affirmation of liberty from conservative restrains and the celebration of being young and independent.
